Graphite electrodes EG / RP is a carbon consumable rod product made on the basis of petroleum products and coke using the technology with thermal firing and graphitization, designed to perform a conductive function in DC arc furnaces.
Abbreviation:
-
E - electrode;
-
G - graphite;
-
RP - for low power DC arc furnaces.
The graphite arc electrode EG / RP has a geometric shape of a cylinder with straight end cuts in which recessed sockets are embedded. On the inner walls of the sockets, a metric or cylindrical thread is cut, which is necessary for screwing in the nipples. The last element is a connecting link when forming a vaulted column or for connecting two electrodes to each other. Nipples can be supplied as a set for each individual electrode, or in a separate batch. The "cylinder" shape is chosen for the convenience of gripping with a hydraulic tong when twisting the column. A technical passport for the product is attached.
Graphite electrodes for electric arc furnaces EG / RP, primarily due to the heat resistance of graphite, are used in the smelting of steels, special alloys and ferroalloys using ore thermal, steel-smelting, refining and other electric furnaces.
